Two doctors at Noble’s hospital are currently not at work while officials carry out an investigation.
The Department of Health and Social Security has confirmed an internal probe is under way, but says it can’t comment further on employment matters.
A spokesman for the DHSS said work undertaken by the two was being covered by other staff to ensure patient care wasn't affected.
But Manx Radio has been contacted by patients at the hospital’s ophthalmology department who say their appointments have been cancelled because of an investigation.
