Lifeboats provide assistance

by isleofman.com 16th September 2008
Lifeboat crews in Peel and Douglas were called out to help vessels in distress, in separate incidents.

The crew of a pleasure craft were escorted back to Peel Harbour, after they got into difficulties north of the Point of Ayre, at lunchtime yesterday. Coastguards in Ramsey were called to help one casualty on board.

Later, the Douglas lifeboat was launched to help a dive boat with engine problems, seven miles out to sea, east of the town.

The boat and its occupants were escorted back to the harbour.

Both operations were coordinated by the Liverpool Coastguard.
