Knighter extends Lead

by isleofman.com 16th September 2008
David Knight produced another five star performance to extend his lead in the Grand National Cross-Country series in the United States.

The Snowshoe was the tenth round of the series and Knighter's sixth win of the season.

The Manxman had to work hard for victory at the Snowshoe Mountain Ski resort in West Virginia after he went into the first corner too fast. The mistake moved him back to 9th among the 185 taking part.

Through the rocks and very muddy wooded sections, Knight had advanced up to second spot by the end of the first lap of six.

He moved into top spot during the second circuit and only lost the position briefly on lap three when he stopped for fuel.

Knighter is now 47 points ahead of Paul Whibley in the overall Grand National Cross Country standings with just three rounds to go.
