An American import is putting a Manx product under immense pressure.
Twelve thousand tonnes of scallops are shipped over from South America every year, and with the working practices and lower wages in that part of the world, producers there can offer lower prices.
It means local fisherman are facing tough competition, made worse by the current economic situation.
