A big beach clean-up will take place in the south of Island this weekend.
Beachwatch 2008 hopes to turn the tide of litter, which is unsightly and poses a severe threat to marine life.
Chairman of the Manx Wildlife Group's southern members group Ian Costain says it's a real problem (audio file attached):
Volunteers are asked to meet at 2pm on Saturday in the second car park just past Hango Hill in Castletown.
Then on Sunday, at the same time, the Beach Buddies are having a beach clean-up session on Ramsey's north beach by the Grand Island Hotel.
Next Saturday (September 27) there will be a clean-up on the Balladooil/Pooil Vaish section of the southern coast, with volunteers meeting at Pooil Vaish farm carpark at 10am.
