Airport sale will be good for Island

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2008
The Isle of Man will benefit from the sale of Gatwick Airport.

That’s the belief of Flybe’s chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter.

The owner, BAA, put Gatwick up for sale on the recommendation of the United Kingdom's Competition Commission, a move which has been welcomed by various passenger groups and airlines.

Mr Rutter (pictured) believes BAA has neglected Gatwick for too long (audio file attached):

Flybe has run a passenger service between Isle of Man Airport and Gatwick since March 2007, when it bought BA Connect, which previously operated on the route.
