A 24 year-old man has been fined ?1,100 for drink driving and driving without a licence.

Ryan Williamson, of Sulby Glen, admitted both offences when he appeared before the deputy high bailiff.

Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting, said the defendant was followed at 1.15am on September 6, after he had been seen veering from side to side and crossing the white lines.

He travelled up Bowring Road, Ramsey and on to Jurby Road where he was stopped.

The defendant provided samples showing a blood alcohol reading of 174 milligrammes, more than twice the legal limit of 80.
