A group of MHKs are hoping they've done enough to give the people of the Isle of Man more time to talk about pensions.
The deadline for the public consultation on Superannuation is today (Friday) but six MHKs - all of them new members at the last election - want that extended by a month.
They hand-delivered a letter to the Chief Minister yesterday stating many people were confused and needed more time to consider their views.
David Quirk says they have all been inundated with letters of concern from constituents who fear changes could adversely affect them.
He also hopes any decision about the future of public sector pensions will be made by the representatives of the people (audio file attached):
