Bell looks back at extraordinary week

Treasury Minister Allan Bell says the government is keeping an eye on Island-based companies affected by the recent stock market ructions.

Merrill Lynch was bought by Bank of America, while HBOS businesses Clerical Medical International and Royal Bank of Scotland International were both snapped by Lloyds TSB.

All these businesses have offices in Douglas and Mr Bell was asked whether the developments had caused any concerns:
