Large numbers of 'little people' will be seen on Douglas promenade from 11am on Saturday, as children take part in a sponsored event to raise money for the 'Wish Upon a Dream' charity.
The 'Sure Fairy Dash' will feature a number of races, for boys and girls aged between six and eleven, and the money raised will go towards providing a 'sunshine break' in Portugal for a local boy who suffers from cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy.
The races will be similar to the successful 'Bra Dash' and 'Santa Dash' held in Douglas every year, and those taking part are being encouraged to dress as fairies and elves.
The charity was set up by Lesley Turnbull from Santon last year, and there is a special reason behind its purpose (audio file attached):
Signing on will be from 11am, and the fairies and elves will start racing, from the TT Stop Cafe, half an hour later. Those taking part had to register in advance.
