Beware the Wolfman!

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2008
Mark Wolfenden was the hero as St John's maintained their 100 per cent record in CFS Division Two on Saturday.

He hit four in a 7-2 rout at western neighbours Foxdale.

Mike Peace (two) and promising youngster Callum Taggart netted the others.

Castletown continued their fine form with an 8-3 home win against Onchan.

A hat-trick from Mike Edge, two each from Alex Cawley and Karl Clark and one from Tom Charmer secured the victory – this after a thrilling seven-goal first half edged by Town.

Pulrose bounced back from defeat to St John’s with an important 4-2 home win over Marown.

A double from the prolific Dave Skillen and one apiece from Brian O’Riordan and Jamie Devereau saw off battling Marown, whose goals were scored by Ricky and Jeremy Lovett.

Mark Grotty was the star of the show with five as Ramsey Youth Centre’s impressive start continued with a goal glut against Douglas and District.

Matty Boyd, Martin Murphy and Glen McGovern scored the others as Youth Centre ran out 8-5 winners.

Steve Wilson (two), James Beattie, Pete Kirkham, Richard Brant found the net for battling D&D.

Douglas Royal did a professional job to see off Northern Athletic 3-0 – Chris Anderson (two) and Neil Kenna the scorers – while a goal in each half from Shane Larkin and Lee Ramsden earned Braddan a 2-0 win at Malew.

Hat-tricks from John Quaye and Adam Hawkes, plus two from Chris Moore and one from Darren Loader, saw the Police turn on the style with a 9-3 win at Ronaldsway.
