Valkyrs stun champions; Falcons top

Champions Bacchas A were stunned by arch-rivals Valkyrs A on Saturday as Falcons continued their blistering start to the Mixed Hockey Premier League.

Goals from Chris Caldwell, Gareth Morris (two) and Gerry Quinn kick-started Valkyrs season with a 4-1 win after the sides were level at 1-1 at the break.

All this after Dave Kneale had put Bacchas in front.

Meanwhile, a hat-trick from Karen Faragher helped Falcons stay top by thrashing Bacchas B 5-1.

Steve Crowe and Kim Carney notched the others with Richard Le Page getting the Bacchas’ consolation.

Ollie Webster was the main man as second placed Ramsey thrashed Phoenix A 11-2.

He hit five with Sam Corkill grabbing a hat-trick.

Luke Robertson (two) and Sarah Breen scored the others with Alexis Wood and Simon Radcliffe scoring consolations for Phoenix in the second half.
