Woman attacked with stiletto

Police are investigating an assault in which a woman was hit in the face with a stiletto shoe.

The assault took place on Douglas Promenade in the area of the TT Stop Cafe around 1.15am on Sunday and involved two women.

The woman who was attacked suffered an injury to her jaw.

Her attacker is described as being white with short dark curly hair and wearing a red coloured dress. She was with a man who was wearing a white shirt and they were both sitting on the pavement.

Police are calling it a 'nasty and unprovoked attack' and appealing for the woman involved to come forward and for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information to contact police headquarters on 631212 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
