Pensions consultation extended

The consultation period on potentially far-reaching changes to the Island's Superannuation Act of 1984 has been extended by a month.

Six MHKs signed a letter to the chief minister, complaining they didn't have enough time to respond to a raft of queries from constituents.

They argued many people were confused and concerned over how changes to the act could pave the way to a reform of public sector pensions.

As a result, an extra 28 days has been granted for consultation.
