Witness appeal after Poodle mauled

A Poodle was mauled by a Bullmastiff type dog on Ballaquayle Road, Douglas yesterday.

Police are looking for witnesses to the attack, which happened outside Kinrade's Pharmacy, at about 5.20pm.

The handler of the larger animal fled from the scene.

He is described as a young, white male with short, brown hair and wearing a beige coloured jacket.

Eye witness and friend of the owner Emma Alexander says the poodle is in a bad way (audio file attached):
