Lookaround saved - but reduced

by isleofman.com 25th September 2008
Border TV’s Lookaround has been saved – but it’s to be slashed in length.

Broadcasting regulator Ofcom has this morning (Thursday) revealed its decision over plans by ITV to merge the Border and Tyne Tees regions.

Ofcom says there should be a Lookaround slot in a half-hour regional news show for the combined Border and Tyne Tees regions.

But it’s bad news for Border news bulletins during the day - Ofcom says these should be scrapped.

ITV says merging the Border region with the North-East would save ?40m per year.
