Magistrate retires

by isleofman.com 26th September 2008
A well known magistrate in the Isle of Man has retired.

John Teare has just celebrated his 70th birthday.

At a recent sitting in Douglas, chairman of the Isle of Man Magistrates' Association Charles Fargher thanked him for his work.

He said his humour and sound common sense would be very much missed.

Mr Teare was first appointed to the Ramsey bench in 1989 and had been on both the Board of Prison Visitors and the Juvenile Panel.
