Major road works underway

by isleofman.com 29th September 2008
Major road works begin in Kewaigue this morning (Monday).

The section of the Douglas Inner Link Road from the White Hoe to the entrance of the Heron and Brearley Brewery at Kewaigue is being excavated and reconstructed.

There’ll be traffic lights for the most part and Department of Transport officials are apologising for delays.

The timings at the traffic lights in Anagh Coar, Groves Road and Pulrose Bridge will be adjusted to allow for the increased traffic on the New Castletown Road.

During the works, the Water Authority will renew the water main under the road and Douglas Corporation will complete street lighting in the area.

The works are expected to be substantially complete before Christmas, although weekend road closures will be required in the New Year to complete the final road surfacing.
