Passengers on board the QEII will hear a special message recorded by Chief Minister Tony Brown when the cruise liner visits Manx waters on Friday.
Manx Radio has been asked to record the message, which will be in the form of an official welcome to the Isle of Man.
In another government initiative, a letter will be dropped under the doors of each of the cabins as a greeting from the Department of Tourism and Leisure.
The ship is due off Douglas at around 6.45am, as part of her farewell tour of the British Isles.
Chief Minister Tony Brown told us why he felt the need to get involved: "It's very historical having the QEII coming near the Island's shores on its trip round the British Isles for the last time.
"The QEII is an icon of shipping and it's nice to welcome everybody when they are so close to our shores, and hope that one day they might come to the Isle of Man on holiday."
