Jonny Bellis gave a solid performance in the first stage of the Circuit Franco-Belge yesterday.

Competing for the CSC Saxo Bank team, the 20-year-old Douglas rider came home in the second part of the peloton, four seconds behind the winner, Quick Step's Tom Boonen.

He won it in a bunch sprint ahead of Tyler Farrar and Jurgen Roelandts.

The four day event continues today with the 184km Bray Dunes to Poperinge stage.
