Vagas see off Hoylake

by isleofman.com 6th October 2008
Vagabonds overcame Hoylake and the atrocious conditions with a good win in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One on Saturday.

An early try from skipper Kevin Birchall set them on their way.

A Jonny Beckley penalty followed, plus further tries from Ryan Kennaugh and Jason Bowden tries, to seal a 20-0 home win.

Douglas didn’t fare so well in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two, going down 30-5 at Oswestry.

Bryn Snellgrove has fired them into an early lead before the home side ran out clear winners.

Ramsey’s dream start to life in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Four continued with a 33-12 win at Congleton.

A Finton Cummins penalty, added to by a Danny Turner try, put them in charge before tries either side of half-time from Kyle Ridgeway and Chris Davies, converted by Dave Podmore, brought Congleton back into the contest.

However, another Cummins penalty and tries from Matt Livesey and Matt Wylie, before two more penalties from the impressive Cummins, sealed the win.
