Depositors' protection up to ?50,000

Treasury Minister Allan Bell has announced a new level of protection for people with deposits in banks in the Isle of Man.

The compensation guarantee is going up from ?15,000 to ?50,000 which matches the protection being offered in the United Kingdom.

The move, to give assurance to bank customers in the Island, was announced by Mr Bell (pictured) at a news conference this afternoon.
