The former Clerk to Tynwald, Professor St. John Bates, will this week present a report, prepared by Bates Enterprises Ltd, on the effectiveness and transparency of the legislative process in Moldova.
The report was commissioned by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, a UN agency.
The presentation meeting will be in the capital of Moldova, to the Minister of Justice, the President of the Parliament, senior civil servants and parliamentary officers.
The purpose of the meeting, to be held over two days, is to establish whether progress can be made in implementing its recommendations.
They extend over such matters as procedures for public consultation, drafting technique and aspects of the parliamentary legislative procedure. The early indications are that many of the recommendations will be adopted.
