Heated exchanges at public meeting

A public meeting for staff and people with deposits in Kaupthing Singer and Freidlander has been held at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas.

The bank went into liquidation overnight, and depositors have been trying to find out whether they can get their money back.

Marian Kenny reported live from the Gaiety on this evening's Mandate PM.

She said there was a mood of 'extreme seriousness' in the theatre (audio file attached):
