Credit crunch and the media

A long-serving journalist believes media concerns in the Isle of Man will be affected by the credit crunch, but not as badly as their counterparts in the United Kingdom.

Manx Independent founder Bill Dale says the first thing they noticed during the recession of the 1980s was a dip in advertising revenue as firms slashed their budgets.

He thinks that will be the case this time as well, but hopes the Island will be sheltered from the worst of the global economic storm:
