Compensation scheme under spotlight

A Rushen MHK will table a series of questions about the collapsed bank Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander, as well as the Island’s bank depositor’s compensation scheme next week.

In Tynwald, Juan Watterson (pictured) will ask 14 questions about the KFS affair after the bank collapsed last week.

On top of that, he’s asking for more details about the compensation scheme which kicks in when a bank goes bust.

Mr Watterson says there weren’t many answers to his questions during Tynwald’s emergency debate last week (audio file attached):
