New scheme doesn't mean more work!

The new kerbside recycling scheme shouldn't cause too much extra work for householders.

In the new initiative, residents in Braddan, Douglas and Onchan are being asked to separate their newspapers, magazines, glass and plastic bottles for fortnightly collection.

Joanne Hetherington (pictured) from the Department of Local Government says tins and cans DO need to be clean so they don't attract vermin and to cut down on contaminants in the recycling process - but this task shouldn't be too arduous (audio file attached):
