Day of Prayer today

by isleofman.com 16th October 2008
We're being urged to join together later today (Thursday) in a day of prayer for those suffering in the current financial crisis.

The Lord Bishop has called a Day of Prayer at churches throughout the Island and prayers will be offered for individuals, charities and those who work in financial institutions, as well as those worried about the world economy.

All Church of England churches are opening for at least an hour and Bishop Robert Paterson says anyone who wants to pray can just drop in, whether they are a regular church goer or not (audio file attached):

St. Peter’s Parish Church in Onchan is among those involved and will be open between twelve thirty and half past one this lunchtime.
