Health agreement implications unknown

It's not yet clear what impact the withdrawal of the reciprocal health agreement with the UK will have on an individual's insurability.

The change means that from 2010 people will have to have to pay for any extended stays in hospital in the UK.

However, Director of Strategy and Performance at the DHSS, Norman McGregor-Edwards (pictured), says Manx residents who are referred to the UK for an operation will still be treated free of charge (audio file attached):
