Manx Telecom will launch the new BlackBerry Bold Smartphone at a mobile phone surgery on Saturday (October 18).
Described as the very latest in mobile communication, it will be launched at the MT shop in Strand Street in Douglas.
Members of the public will be able to see demonstrations of the device, handle it for themselves and ask experts about the latest in smartphone technology.
Manx Telecom expects strong demand for the new smartphone from both personal and business customers and is encouraging customers to call in and see the live device for themselves, plus pick up a few BlackBerry related giveaways on the day.
In addition to the launch of the new phone, a team of ‘Mobile Phone Doctors’ will be available to help mobile phone owners who want to get more out of their phones generally.
Announcing the initiative, Sarah Creighton, Manx Telecom’s Mobile Shop Manager, said: ‘Almost everyone has a mobile these days and the phones themselves, even the less expensive ones, have become much more sophisticated. Life is hectic and there is a tendency not to use many of our phone’s functions when, in fact, they could make a big difference to our working and personal lives.
‘We want to help people maximise the benefit they get from their mobile and our ‘Mobile Doctors’ will be on hand to answer things like how to send a text, how to take and save photographs, using your phone for email, or when you are off-Island. In fact, you can ask us anything at all. I’m sure the ‘Mobile Doctor’ initiative will be of real benefit to a lot of our customers.’
