Peer visit to Island's schools

The House of Lords is reaching out to schools in the Isle of Man.

The former Labour MP for Warrington North Lord Hoyle is visiting politics students at St Ninian's and Ramsey Grammar Schools today (Friday) as part of a programme to shed some light on what it means to be a Peer.

Pupils will be able to question him on various aspects of the work and role of the House of Lords, as well as share some details about the Manx political system.

Head of Social Science at St Ninian's Sara Crisford expects the visit will dispel some common misconceptions (audio file attached):
