"Horrible and hideous" extension

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2008
A Ramsey man has had plans to build an extension to his home refused for a second time, despite the fact they were initially approved.

The householder in Bowring Road appealed against the Department of Local Government and the Environment's decision to block the build. DoLGE changed its mind after an appeal from a neighbour.

DoLGE said the extension would be "horrible and hideous" and "visually intrusive" to the neighbour in Coronation Court.

It was also felt the plans could harm the neighbour's living conditions and spoil the enjoyment of their garden.
