Malarkey ready for challenge

Controlling drinking among the Island's young people and promoting parental and community responsibility towards alcohol are two of the key issues the newest member of the Department of Home Affairs is vowing to tackle.

South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey (pictured) has been appointed a member of the department with the main focus on supporting the work of the Chief Minister's Drug and Alcohol Strategy.

He is relishing the challenge, three months after stepping down from the Liberal Vannin Party:
