Suspended sentence for cocaine offence

A Port Erin woman has avoided immediate custody, after admitting possessing cocaine.

Thirty-seven year-old Caroline Miller of Edremony was given a four month sentence, suspended for two years.

She was arrested at a property in Douglas on August 15, when a quantity of the drug was found with a street value of ?130.

The court was told Miller had suffered difficulties which needed addressing and her child would suffer if a prison sentence was imposed.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle asked what thought Miller had given to her child when she committed the offence.

He imposed also imposed a two year supervision order.
