A pressure group says a full emergency turn-out at Ronaldsway Airport yesterday has renewed its concerns about the RAF Hawk training jet.
The aircraft landed safely soon after the pilot reported a control problem.
The Celtic League has actively campaigned against the use of the aircraft, expressing concern over what it sees as a chequered safety record.
Director of information Bernard Moffatt says the latest incident proves nothing new but doesn't lessen the concerns.
He told Manx Radio:
"The Celtic League are opposed to British military activity generally.
"We have campaigned against it for years, so nobody can accuse us of being dispassionate or objective.
"But, in this instance, I would say the reservations we have about the safety of this particular aircraft type, and some others which utilise a training facility at Ronaldsway, are well founded."
