Police launch new traffic campaign

Beware the one eyed monsters!

That’s the message from the southern neighbourhood policing team which is focusing on vehicles with defective lighting.

Over the next month, road-side checks are to be carried out during times where lights are required.

The message from Acting Sergeant Louise Kennaugh is to check lights and ensure vehicles are in good working order, before every journey.

She says the emphasis of the campaign is on education rather than prosecution (audio file attached):
