by isleofman.com 4th November 2008
Kaupthing, Singer and Friedlander Isle of Man will again be in the spotlight during question time in the House of Keys this morning.

Michael MHK David Cannan will ask Chief Minister Tony Brown if the Council of Ministers has considered a report of the recent delegation to London, seeking the return of ?500 million from the Kaupthing Bank in the UK capital to the Isle of Man subsidiary.

He will also ask Treasury Minister Allan Bell if the Financial Supervision Commission directed the Isle of Man branch of the Icelandic bank to transfer funds from Iceland to London.

Onchan MHK Peter Karran will ask Mr Bell if any action has been taken to safeguard against unauthorised loans being granted by government agencies and departments.

He wants to know if any lessons have been learned from the Manx Electricity Authority affair.

Mr Karran will also be quizzing the health minister about why two consultants at Noble's Hospital are off work.

Local authority rates, Greenlight Television and the Education Bill also feature on the question paper.

This morning's sitting is due to start at 10am, and there will be live coverage of question time on Manx Radio's 1368 AM service.
