Katherine wins Manx song competition

Singer songwriter Katherine Crowe scooped the top honours in this year’s Arrane son Mannin competition, which is part of the Cooish festival.

She won the Song for Man contest and will go on to represent the Isle of Man at next year’s Pan Celtic International Festival.

Katherine performed her song at the Philip Christian Centre in Peel (pictured), before a panel of three judges on Sunday evening.

She says the song, which was translated into Manx by Bob Carswell, is far from being a cheery pop tune:
