A programme which aims to reduce aggressive behaviour in children through interaction with babies will be officially launched in the Isle of Man this morning.
Roots of Empathy has been developed in Canada and uses the baby as a "teacher" to encourage youngsters to consider and understand the feelings of others.
The project is being trialled with year two pupils at ten schools across the Island.
The six and seven years olds will be visited by the babies every three weeks and will be able to monitor their growth and development over the next year.
Speaking on Manx Radio before the trial got underway, International Director of Roots of Empathy Chris Sarson said it worked because the children didn't feel they were being judged (audio file attached):
The launch is at Anagh Coar School this morning.
