Bus passenger injured - police appeal

by isleofman.com 13th November 2008
Police in Castletown are appealing for further witnesses after a silver BMW car overtook a bus in an allegedly dangerous manner.

It happened around 2pm on Monday, October 20 when the vehicles were heading south on the stretch of road between the Black Boards and Ballasalla.

Police say a white van which was heading towards Douglas had to take evasive action, and the bus driver had to make an emergency stop to prevent a collision when the BMW cut back in front of him.

The car then drove off towards Ballasalla.

An elderly woman on the bus was thrown from her seat and injured her arm, which required several sessions of medical treatment.

Police say a number of people have already come forward, but they would particularly like to speak to the driver of the white transit style van and the driver of a red car which was behind the bus shortly before the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to ring Constable Lee Wright at Castletown Police Station on 822222.
