Member of the Legislative Council Juan Turner is again stating the view the Isle of Man should be able to choose where it's regional television news comes from, rather than having the decision taken for it in London.
Ofcom is currently holding a public consultation on the future of public service broadcasting, and of particular concern to viewers on the Island is the source of our ITV news.
ITV Border, the traditional supplier, and Tyne Tees are due to merge next year, which will lead to a reduced service, and there is no guarantee regional news programmes will continue after the digital switch over is completed in 2014.
Mr Turner (pictured) favours a move to Granada, and on Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion he said the Island should be able to tell the authorities which way it wishes to go:
