'Higher standards than most of the USA'

The chief minister has told Tynwald the Manx government is doing all it can in the face of potential pressure from the United States over the Island's status as an offshore finance centre.

It's thought president-elect Barack Obama could target the Isle of Man among other locations, given comments he has made about so called "tax havens", and Tony Brown faced a raft of questions on the subject.

Mr Brown (pictured) said the Island should not be included in any black-list of uncooperative jurisdictions:
