MHK discovers cost of off-Island business

Off-Island business conducted by members of Tynwald has cost a total of ?130,000 in the past two years.

During the period, there were 19 parliamentary visits by MHKs and MLCs, and 23 trips to conduct "departmental business".

Destinations included Washington and Dubai and, closer to home, Jersey and Sellafield.

The information is provided by Treasury Minister Allan Bell, in reply to a written Tynwald question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran (pictured).
