Police are investigating after a hit and run accident involving a truck in Douglas.

The incident happened on Market Street behind Marks & Spencer at about 1pm on Tuesday, October 21.

A woman was walking in the direction of Victoria Street when she was hit from behind by an open door on a heavy goods vehicle, which witnesses say had canvas sides.

The lorry driver got out of his cab and closed the doors but then drove off without checking the woman was ok.

She suffered slight injuries in the incident and police are now appealing for him to come forward.
