Seeds of learning

Pupils at Ashley Hill Primary School in Onchan are using a grant from an environmental award scheme to grow their own plants and vegetables.

Five hundred pounds from the Cemex Scoillyn Award Scheme has enabled children in year five to create and care for a garden.

Eight primary schools and one secondary school in the Island received grants for projects of an environmentally friendly nature.

Year five teacher Kerry Dawson explains how Ashley Hill's project began (play attached audio file):
