Bank deposits figures revealed

The Financial Supervision Commission says deposits with Manx-licensed banks have increased by ?0.13 billion (0.24 per cent) to ?53.90 billion between June and September this year.

Year on year, that makes for an increase of 7.63 per cent - ?3.82 billion up on the 2007 figure.

Isle of Man banks with overseas branches saw their deposits remain unchanged at ?66.26 billion between June and September.

However, so far this year they’re up ?4.01 billion or 6.44 per cent on the corresponding totals last year.
