Ferry services disrupted

Thick fog in the River Mersey has caused disruption for Steam Packet passengers today.

The Ben my Chree has been diverted from Birkenhead to Heysham, due to restricitons in the Mersey imposed by the port authorities in Liverpool.

The company had warned today's sailing may be delayed by the weather.

Passengers expecting to take the return sailing from Liverpool to the Isle of Man are being transferred to Heysham, but the timings have not yet been announced.
