Manx authorities criticised in Champ case

A supporter of Champ, who says she found a suitable home for the pit bull, says the Manx authorities acted too quickly.

Sylvia Williams from Douglas told the authorities she had located a secure home for the dog in Ireland.

But she says although officials dealing with the case took the details, no-one came back to her.

Pit bulls are an illegal breed in the Isle of Man.

DAFF destroyed the dog on Wednesday night, saying no suitable long-term home was available.

Sylvia says her offer was overlooked - and remains uneasy at the final turn of events (audio file attached):
