Mona Drive incident - man charged

A man has been charged with three offences in connection with an incident in which a vehicle was allegedly driven at a police officer.

The 31 year-old from Mona Street, Douglas was arrested early yesterday morning and was detained in custody overnight.

He is accused of committing grievous bodily harm with intent, and driving while disqualified and with no insurance, and will appear in court tomorrow.

PC Andy Morgan was struck by a car in the early hours of Saturday morning, and suffered a broken collar bone and severe lacerations and abrasions.

The car driver left the scene without stopping.

Two other men arrested in connection with the incident have been released.
