DoE ready to build new secondary school

by isleofman.com 8th December 2008
Tynwald is going to be asked to approve ?400,000 for preparation work to build a new St Ninian's Lower School at Bemahague in Onchan.

Education Minister Anne Craine will seek permission to go ahead with the scheme at this month's sitting.

Plans include closing the building in Park Road, Douglas and relocating Key Stage 3 pupils to the new Lower School.

The initial stage would be the enabling phase, involving the removal of hedgerows on the site, and other off-site works.

Mrs Craine plans to bring the main scheme to Tynwald in July next year.
